Keyboard shortcuts
Every keyboard shortcut in the Getman desktop app, grouped by what it does, with the conditions under which each one works.
Getman uses one modifier key for its shortcuts. On macOS it is ⌘ (Command). On Windows it is Ctrl. The tables below show both. Where a shortcut needs a specific context, the table says so.
Project and views
These work whenever a project is open.
| Action | macOS | Windows |

| Open the command palette | ⌘K | Ctrl+K |
| Search requests in the palette | ⌘P | Ctrl+P |

Requests and tabs
These work when a request tab is open and active.
| Action | macOS | Windows | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Send the request | ⌘↵ | Ctrl+Enter | |
| Cancel the request | ⌘. | Ctrl+. | Cancels the request in flight. |
| Save the request | ⌘S | Ctrl+S | |
| Close the tab | ⌘W | Ctrl+W | |
| Previous tab | ⌥⌘← | Ctrl+Alt+Left | |
| Next tab | ⌥⌘→ | Ctrl+Alt+Right | |
| Focus the URL field | ⌘L | Ctrl+L | |
| Copy the request as cURL | ⌘⇧C | Ctrl+Shift+C | Not while the focus is in the editor. |
| Undo | ⌘Z | Ctrl+Z | Not while the focus is in the editor. Editors have their own undo. |
| Redo | ⌘⇧Z | Ctrl+Shift+Z | Not while the focus is in the editor. |
Editing
The code editors in request bodies and scripts have their own shortcuts. Search inside an editor uses ⌘F on macOS and Ctrl+F on Windows, which comes from the editor itself.
When focus is in a text field or the editor, Getman leaves undo, redo and Copy as cURL to the field.
Tips
- The command palette (⌘K) lists the main actions in the app, including ones without a shortcut. Use it when you forget a key.
- The URL field is reached with ⌘L, so you can type a new address without reaching for the mouse.
- Use ⌘⇧G to open the Changes view, then Inbox to see what needs your attention. See change packages.
If a shortcut does nothing, check two things: that a project is open, and that a request tab is active for the actions in the second table. On a non-Mac keyboard, use Ctrl where this page says ⌘.
